There is something timeless about gathering around a table.

Before the first course is served, something quietly begins to take shape. Friends reconnect, conversations find their rhythm, and an ordinary evening starts to feel like something worth remembering.

This dinner brought together a small group of friends to celebrate the simple pleasure of sharing a meal. Inspired by the season, every element from the menu to the flowers on the table was thoughtfully prepared to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Some evenings ask for nothing more than good food, good company and the time to enjoy both. The Art of Hosting

For Carol, every gathering begins long before the guests arrive. It starts with imagining who will be around the table, what is in season and how each course can contribute to the feeling of the evening.

Her approach to cooking is rooted in simplicity. Fresh, seasonal ingredients are carefully selected and prepared in ways that let their natural flavors shine, proving that plant-based cuisine can be generous, elegant and deeply satisfying.

From the first idea to the final plate, every decision is guided by the same intention: creating a meal that brings people together and feels both thoughtful and effortless.

A Seasonal Menu

Created entirely around fresh, seasonal ingredients, the menu celebrated the richness of plant based cooking through simple, carefully balanced flavors. Each course was designed to feel light, nourishing and full of character, allowing every ingredient to speak for itself.

The evening began with an arugula, fennel and orange salad finished with parmesan, followed by a roasted red pepper and tomato soup served with roasted cauliflower. The main course featured portobello mushrooms with a pepper crust alongside creamy mashed potatoes, ending with a homemade strawberry and basil ice cream that brought a fresh and memorable close to the meal.

Rather than adding complexity, the menu embraced the beauty of thoughtful ingredients prepared with care, showing that some of the most satisfying meals are often the simplest.

Around the Table

As guests arrived, the evening naturally settled into its own rhythm. Glasses were raised, plates were shared and conversations moved effortlessly from one story to the next, filling the rooftop with warmth and laughter.

The table became more than a place to enjoy dinner. It became a space where friends could reconnect, celebrate one another and simply enjoy being together without feeling rushed. As the night unfolded, it became clear that the most memorable part of the evening was not any single dish, but the moments created around the table.

An Evening to Remember

Long after the last course had been served, no one seemed ready to leave. Conversations wandered from one story to another, the candles slowly burned down and the rooftop remained filled with laughter.

When the evening finally came to an end, there was little left on the table except empty plates, scattered flowers and the quiet feeling that some nights are worth lingering over.
